VS1000 Datalogging Video

The
VS1000 is our newest product. It combines the great video and audio
capture of our VS100 with the capability to capture and display a variety
of car and driver performance parameters. It works like the many popular
dataloggers on the market, but instead of storing the data for computer
download, it "imprints" the data right on the video tape.
The VS1000 is one of the best learning tools a driver can have in the race car. For the new
driver, it lets you see and show others exactly what you're doing on the
track, so you can get the most relevant feedback. If you're an experienced
driver, you can compare what's actually happening with what you know
should be happening. (You're only pushing 1.2 g's in that left hander when
you know the car will do 1.4!) You'll get up to speed faster and easier.

When reviewing
conventional datalogger data on the computer after a race, it can be
difficult to remember the whole story. Were you slow through turn 3 on lap
4 because you were driving badly, or was it because you got held up by a backmarker? Why was lap 10 faster than lap 9? Pure driving
genius or a big draft? Or both? Data alone can't tell you, but video
and data together can.
We've designed the VS1000
so you can get all the features right away, or start with the basics and
add capability later if you want.
The basic system comes
with the same video camera, camera mount, and microphone as our basic
VS100 system. It adds the VS1000 "brain box", with rpm, mph, and basic
(on/off) throttle and brake sensors. All required sensors, cables, and
components are provided. You add your own recording device (VCR or
camcorder).
The complete system comes with all of
the above (with analog throttle and brake instead of on/off) plus lateral
g force, on screen lap time, lap timer beacon and receiver, and a digital
dash display that gives both lap time and lap number.
